This purchase frustrated me because I couldn't find a shred of first hand experience for it. I ordered it anyway, because our winters in Northern Minnesota made the other Bundle Me's by JJ Cole look inadequate and we needed something. It arrived today and I couldn't be happier. This is very well made- thick and with a heavy exterior shell like a good Columbia or North Face ski jacket. On the inside is a very plush and soft fleece lining. Between the exterior shell and this inner fleece lining is a material like Thinsulate and it's about an inch or so thick. There are multiple slots for proper placement of shoulder straps and for the crotch strap which should allow this to work with any car seat. Ours is a Graco Snugride, and we were able to use the head support that came with the car seat along with the Arctic Bundle Me. It zips both ways, so you can get access to the feet of your child without... So many of them are cheap and flimsy and don't look or feel warm. Others look to much like a high tech sleeping bag. This bag is of extremely high quality and very functional in its design. Easy to swap from car seat to stroller and back. Very good looking without being too technical looking. Basically a stylish and warm sleeping sack for your baby. Easy to open up when you are in a car - the whole front zips off. Has openings in the back that accommodate all types of straps and belts. Front pockets are useful for a pacifier. Seems very warm - have had baby in it in very cold temps (single digits) and always seem comfortable. Works great in infant car seats. I was tempted to just get the larger one b/c of the price - but the infant one is the right size for an infant seat. The larger one would be too big. Its expensive but well worth the price for both its style and its function. Would recommend without any hesitation... It certainly keeps his bottom half toasty, but we can't figure out what to do with his shoulders because if we put a warm sweater on him, he gets too hot from his armpits down! Another thing to keep in mind - since it is SO warm, the baby can really only wear light clothes underneath it. This is a problem if you are in the car and want to transport the baby from the car to a store etc WITHOUT taking in the car seat, as you either have to carry the baby IN the Bundle Me (unwieldy option), or take the baby out and wrap him/her in a blanket or put on a snowsuit in the car to protect the baby until you get inside. Great idea, but not as all around useful as I'd hoped. |
