He is now almost five and a half and is still using it in the 5 pt harness setting. He enjoys it, has never said anything about it being uncomfortable and I like that it is slim and fits nicely next to his baby sister's infant seat. It's easy enough that he can buckle himself in which is nice. I also like that it has a top tether, as tethering is very important to me. HOWEVER, I have a few complaints: 1) There is not much room between him and the buckle. Nearly every time I put him in it, I have to make him sit all the way back against the seat as far as he can in order to buckle him in. He was annoyed by this for a little while but now he's used to it and can do it himself. 2) The chest clip can be difficult to undo. I have to use both hands and even then sometimes I'm fighting to get it undone. 3) The straps tend to twist. It's annoying since every time I put him in it, I'm usually untwisting the straps... I have to pick him up and cradle him like a baby to put him in... and he is far from baby sized now.I chose this one because it is a booster with a harness that uses the latch system/anchor system. My son is still too small for the seat belt only booster seats, and the ones of those I have seen do not use any latch system, but just sits on the seat. I'm not comfortable with that at all... I want some added protection for my child in case of a crash... knowledge that the seat is securely strapped down to the seat and won't go anywhere in case of a seat belt failure. I DO like the fact that the latch has an easy release button to help loosen the latch belt for removal. The Graco did not and it was hard to position it just right to get it loosened enough to take it out. BUT it is REALLY hard to install alone. You have to... Read more |
