This is a great product. It attaches to the car seat with two clips one on each side, that you can tighten. I prefer this to other models I have seen that attach around the child or around the back of the car seat. There is about a 1/2" to 3/4" lip that helps to keep whatever is on the tray on the tray. For my son that is trucks and cars. In the car on corners, his cars slide across the board and he laughs at them, but they haven't fallen off yet. Compared to other car seat trays I have seen, this one is by far the best. It is sturdy, the removable plastic liner gives it great rigidity, and the light weight foam it is made of keeps it nice and light. I also like that the top of the tray (lip and under the removable liner) is made of vinyl for easy clean ups. Three Forward facing car seats of different brands and types for our stair stepped children. 1 Trip, 1 Day - NONE of the three survived the day. These things are made of thin vinyl over foam rubber. Before we could tighten the straps to the point of even making the foam start to bend any (rather loose) the strap on the first one pulled completely off leaving the side seam as a gaping hole. The second one started to pull apart at the seam a hour into the trip. The third one made it the whole trip without loosing the straps like the other two, but the seams on both sides are gaping and barely hold the straps, but they are still on there. Also, the removable tray bottom is a very thin piece of plastic that does not have anything to retain it in the tray and would rather be on the floor than in the tray, and least that is where it kept jumping out. Nice idea, but VERY poorly executed with cheap materials and even worse... I liked that it is very soft squishy underneath with padding around the edges and is very light to carry on trips. The board on top easily pops out for washing and underneath is a nice flat surface that can be played on as well. I was not sure how my son would like something on his lap but wanted to give it a try for our trip. I easily clipped it on his car seat and he immediately took to it. He liked that he could eat his cheerios and place his sippy cup in front of him in the car. The only downside is that it doesn't have a cup holder but then again it would just be another place where soggy food ends up and less playing space. I am very pleased with this product. |
