Seat itself is not anchored to the car in any way unless the seat belt is buckled. For example, if running an errand without child in the car the seat is loose and can shift in seat unless parent remembers to buckle seat in with the car's seat belt. We have been very happy with this seat for our 40lb, 4 1/2 year old and would recommend it to others. Keep in mind that it is impossible to determine the safety of a car seat simply by looking at it. This seat seemed to meet all safety standards and was affordable. Those were my first two requirements and after seeing the seat in person, I am very happy with my purchase. The seat is sturdy and the belt is positioned correctly. I did buy a seat belt cover that will double as a pillow for her on longer car rides (also sold on amazon, I believe Sunshine was the name brand) As an added bonus she finds the seat comfortable and can't wait to be in the car at night to use the reading lights. I also found this very easy to put together. The story goes a little something like this: I tracked my package and found that the seat was out for delivery. I wanted to surprise my little girl by picking her up from school with the seat in the car already. So we purchased this one and he loves it. It's easy for him to use because the seat belt is hooked onto the booster seat and is easy for him to start. It's also very comfortable--the padding in the seat is much more substantial than other back seats we looked at. We would recommend it. |
